Our Technical Rehearsal is an essential part of the Performance Showcase. During this rehearsal, dancers will become familiar with the stage, lighting, music cues, entrances, exits, and performance spacing. To ensure a smooth rehearsal, all Expressers should arrive dressed in their class attire uniform, with hair and makeup complete.
The Technical Rehearsal will begin promptly at the scheduled time. The Performance Showcase will also begin on time. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we will not delay rehearsal or performances for dancers who arrive late.
Our Performance Showcase is located at Kenan Hall at William Peace University 605 Halifax Street Raleigh, NC 27604.
Kenan Hall is approximately 9 minutes (4.5 miles) from Expressions in Rhythm Studio. We strongly encourage families to visit the venue before November 21 to become familiar with the location, parking, and travel time. Planning ahead will help make Showcase Day a smooth and enjoyable experience for your family.

The first Performance Showcase begins at 12pm, for Expressers ages 2-7. The doors open at 11:30am. Tickets are purchased on a first-come, first-served basis HERE until 11am on November 14, 2026.
The second Performance Showcase begins at 3pm, for Expressers ages 8-18. The doors open at 2:30pm. Tickets are purchased on a first-come, first-served basis HERE until 11am on November 14, 2026.

As the Showcase draws near, this Guide is subject to change. For the latest updates, please check all Studio e-mails (sent from info@eirstudio.com and performances@eirstudio.com) as well as social media updates on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Expressers will receive their costumes during class the week of November 16th. Expressers will try them at the :30 minute mark of their class and then practice one time in the costume to ensure the fit. The EIR Studio Community is not allowed in the studio during costume distribution process.

Please make sure that Expressers’ names are in their costumes, accessories, tights (all on the tags) and shoes (to the right of the sole with a Sharpie). We recommend hanging costumes (especially tutus) upside down in an accessible area and if your costume is wrinkled, use a steamer, or hang it in the bathroom and allow steam to release the wrinkles. After the Showcase, feel free to dry clean your costumes.
Expressions in Rhythm Studio takes pride in our Showcase costume selection process. Incorporating age-appropriate costumes, diversity, inclusiveness, and sensory sensitivities are some of the many elements we consider before committing to a costume design. Costume manufacturers do not accept cancellations or returns. For this reason, Expressions in Rhythm Studio does not offer refunds for Showcase costumes. If your child misses class, you can pick their costume up the Friday before Showcase. We will not bring your child’s costume to the venue.
Showcase costume hair and accessory details are as follows:

Make sure the Expresser’s hair and make-up is picture perfect before arriving at the venue. We encourage you to purchase clip on hair pieces (ex: bun, ponytail) for quick changes. We suggest that all Expressers have an extra pair of tights in their performance bag.
We recommend that Expressers who identify as female wear makeup. Lighting can make an Expresser appear “washed-out,” no matter the skin tone. For Creative Movement Expressers, lipstick, a little eyeshadow, and blush that complement their costumes usually do the trick. All other Expressers may wear lipstick, eye shadow, mascara, and blush that complement their costumes. Please keep nail and toe polish clear. Beads and jewelry are prohibited.

The Performance Showcase rehearsals will take place on November 21st. The first rehearsal will be at 10am (this is for the 12pm show). The second rehearsal will begin at 1pm (this is for the 3pm show). Rehearsals will take place at Kenan Hall at William Peace University. Participation in the Showcase rehearsal is mandatory. This is a closed rehearsal and the EIR Studio Community is not allowed to observe the rehearsal. This rehearsal allows Expressers to become familiar with the theatre surroundings and feel comfortable with performing the Showcase routine on stage. Expressers will also become familiar with their dressing room for the big day, as well as lighting, and how to enter and exit the stage for their performances.

Although the Performance Showcase is a one-day activity, putting the Showcase together takes weeks of planning. We suggest that you have all items required for our Expresser’s performances gathered the night before the Showcase. We also suggest that you place the following items in their performance bag: Hair pins, clear nail polish, extra hair bands that (match their hair color), clear Band-Aids, nail polish remover, baby wipes and safety pins.
Expressers and the EIR Studio Team. That’s it. NO EXCEPTIONS.
It is important that Expressers stay in their designated area and remain with their classes until called by their Instructor.

Expressers are not allowed to leave the Showcase early or go sit in the audience. We do however have an area set aside for Expressers to watch the showcase once they have performed. All Expressers will stay with Expressions in Rhythm Studio until the end of their Showcase. We do this for three reasons: (1) Safety- this is the most important thing to us, and we need to know where Expressers are always, so they will stay with us until the end. (2) All Expressers have worked extremely hard, and it is impolite to leave halfway through the Showcase. It is also distracting after a performance when people get up out of their seats to get their children. It also makes the other Expressers feel underappreciated. We like for everyone to see how our Expressers stand out. Moving in the audience causes distractions to the Expressers and other observers. (3) Expressers perform together for our finale! Remember, the EIR Studio Team will assist with the Expressers so you can sit back and enjoy the show!
Get a good rest the night before the Showcase. Arrive on time so that your Expresser has time to dress, warm-up and be ready to hit the stage. Late arrivals cause a great deal of unnecessary stress on the day of a performance.
Expressions in Rhythm Studio has permanently closed. We are grateful to the families, students, instructors, and community members who supported us throughout the years.
