Exploration Without Pressure
Your child will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of dance and music styles, including Acro, Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Liturgical, Lyrical, and Tap. We encourage exploration so students can discover what they love in a supportive, age-appropriate environment.

Our instructors are experienced, attentive, and deeply invested in every student’s well-being. We focus on proper technique, encouragement, and individual attention so each child feels supported, capable, and proud of their progress.

CLASS LEVELS

Have an advanced student ready to take their skills to the next level? Our experienced instructors thoughtfully evaluate current students at the end of each season, including our Performance and Summer Seasons, to ensure every student is placed in the level that best supports their growth and development.

For future students, placement assessments are completed during trial classes. This allows us to understand each student’s experience, ability, and readiness, while also giving families the opportunity to ask questions and feel confident about the placement process.

Performance Season Structure

Expressions in Rhythm Studio operates on a full Performance Season calendar running the 1st Tuesday in September through the 2nd Friday in August. This structure allows children in our program to experience consistent training, progressive skill development, and well-prepared performances throughout the year.

Our 6 Week Summer Session serves as a pathway into the season rather than a stand-alone program. Summer training helps dancers maintain conditioning, build confidence, and transition smoothly into fall classes or new program levels.

Whether joining us for the first time or continuing their journey, dancers who participate in summer enter the season stronger, more prepared, and performance ready.

This expressive style blends Ballet, Jazz, and Lyrical, encouraging freedom, creativity, and emotional connection. Dancers build versatility and explore movement in a way that’s both artistic and deeply personal.

Musical Theatre

This class explores the rich history of Broadway musicals, blending Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Tap. Students develop breath control, energy management, and storytelling skills to bring performances to life.

TLC-Turns, Leaps, Conditioning

Are you ready for stronger turns. higher leaps and better core control? TLC is the class for you! This non-performance technique accelerator class is designed to help intermediate and advanced dancers grow faster, stronger, more controlled, and more confident.

Summer Session Enrollment is Open!

Expressions in Rhythm Studio’s 6 Week Summer Session is your child's pathway into the Performance Season.

Designed to help children stay active, build confidence, and strengthen skills, summer training creates a smooth transition into Performance Season and all of the opportunities that they will experience at Expressions in Rhythm Studio.

For $99, children engage in high energy dance and music classes, grow through creative expression, build friendships, and enter the season feeling prepared and performance ready.

Ideal for new students seeking a comfortable entry point and returning students who want to stay conditioned and confident heading into September.

Inclement Weather Policy

At Expressions in Rhythm Studio, the safety of our students and families is our highest priority. Please note that we do not adhere to the Wake County Public School closure policy in the event of inclement weather. Our team carefully evaluates weather conditions and road safety to determine whether classes can proceed, as roads are often safe for travel even when schools are closed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child need experience?
No. Most of our students begin with no prior experience. Classes are designed to welcome beginners.

What if my child is shy or nervous?
That’s completely normal. Our instructors are trained to support shy students and help them feel comfortable at their own pace.

What if my child needs help during class?
We remind students that asking for help is encouraged. Your child’s comfort and safety always come first.

Can parents watch classes in the studio?

To maintain a focused learning environment, parents are invited to watch their child's class through our exclusive streaming app, as in-person access to studio rooms is not permitted during classes.

What to Expect Your First Week

Before Class
Once enrolled, you’ll receive a welcome text with a link of clear class details, arrival instructions, and what your child needs to bring so you feel prepared from day one.

Arrival and Check-In
Our Welcome Specialist will greet you and your child, help them get settled in Community Lounge, and answer any questions.

During Class
Instructors introduce structure gently, explain expectations, and offer encouragement. Children are reminded that it’s okay to ask questions and ask for help at any time.

After Class
You’ll leave knowing how your child did, what they worked on, and what to expect next. Many families notice increased confidence after just the first class
